Only 1 out of 4

Well, I heard from Haruah yesterday about my four photo submissions. I must admit was a surprised and hurt.

Out of 4 only 1 was accepted.

Illustration-“My Heart Aches: But Goodbye” was submitted on March 29th. This is the only one that was accepted.

Cover Art-“The Long Bridge” was submitted on April 24th.

I don’t mind that last one so much. The author, herself, illustrated the piece. I do wish that when I wrote Haruah expressing my interest to illustrate it, that they would have written me back and let me know that the author sent a photo in.

The “Falling Through” is a nuisance as I went out three times during two different storms to get the shot and they say it still isn’t good enough. I thought it went with the poem very well and the picture wasn’t that bad. Oh, well it isn’t my magazine.

The real heartbreak of them all was with the cover art, “The Long Bridge.” That shot was just beautiful. I don’t understand the comment on it. This bridge has been photographed over and over again and my shot is as good as the one on the website. Oh well. Maybe I can find another place for this beautiful picture.

Only one out of four photos accepted at Haruah is a real discouragement. I normally do so well there. Maybe they are tried of me submitting. I guess I’ll give this magazine a rest.
